Blunt Umbrellas

Straight to the point – Blunt are the world’s best umbrellas, designed by New Zealand! True Classic No.8 wire thinking, Blunt was born out of frustration at seeing blown-out brollies in rubbish bins. A bold promise was made to solve the issue. Kicking mass-produced cheap alternatives to the curb, Blunt created a revolutionary design – no weak points, no sharp edges.

A uniquely tensioned canopy with a flattering aerodynamic profile, Blunt not only solved the issue with quality workmanship; they made umbrellas cool at the same time. Rapid growth for Blunt continues across the world, while they stay true to elegant engineering, sophisticated design and commitment to ‘be the solution’.

Rebecca partnered with business owners and directors to develop, design and rollout a bespoke project delivery framework, along with an associated Business Case to plan for an innovative product launch. Handing this over to key staff with coaching and mentoring plans ensured project management capability and intellectual property (IP) were retained in-house.

What value was added?

  • Creation of a bespoke project delivery framework specifically designed for the size, scale and style of Blunt’s business model

  • Workshop facilitation to build project understanding and gain decisions for a comprehensive Business Case including:

    • Project objectives, deliverables, strategy, scope, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, manufacturing processes, product and price point analysis, internal and external benefits, estimated project costs, timeframes, risk and issues, launch planning, governance

  • Further consultancy services were provided to support Blunt with organisation design, analysis and improvement of website performance, plus early stage development around sustainability thinking for all strategy, during an exciting growth phase

  • In depth analysis of organisational structure and industry landscape, website and sales channel efficiency assessment, and sustainability roadmap recommendations
